Now that we've been released, let's speak on where we are and what is going on.

For those of you new to our numbers, this is a Jaunt. We are brought to a particular world and given a task. What that task is...none can say. But it will be more apparent in time, and then we can take action.

[A pause, almost a sigh.]

However, we have to focus on a few things first, such as food and shelter, and finding our way around the city. We'll need to begin our search as soon as possible. Has anyone found anything suitable for us to use in the meantime? We should gather there and regroup.

And if anyone has heard about what was going on in the alleyway when we arrived? Or about the card that was left behind?

One obvious option is, find out who's behind it and kill them. And whoever the hired gun is. [Just get rid of everyone. Clean slate.]

We'll still need to deal with the aftermath if he finds out.

But, barring that, we don't know who the hit has been put out on either. What if they're a criminal and we need to ensure that they die? We don't have all of the facts yet.

There's quite a few of us. Perhaps if we split up and look into each of these, piece by piece, we can find something substantial to go on.

One of the Fools... Sio... kept talking about guns. We could work together to make sure everyone's armed, if we're going to have to fight at some point.

Anyone who thinks murder is just a tool they can use to solve their problems... should already be expecting death.

The police. And tell the police what, exactly? Do you honestly think they don't know about organizations this big? If they could've done something about them, or wanted to, they would have by now.

W-well, the... if... if we find out who the killer is then we can just go to the police with all the evidence and no one's going to have to kill anyone and that'd be a lot better...

Um, I actually think yours sounds like a good idea.. if they could lock us up like that, then they can do the same to the person who might be killing someone, right? And as long as the killer can't carry out the act, then everything should be solved.

Refusing to outright kill someone is one thing. But the police have authority here. They won't listen to outsiders, I bet. And if someone's been hired to kill someone, who's to say the police weren't given money to turn their backs on the crime and sweep it under the rug?

It's not so uncommon where I'm from. Nobles bribe guards often when they want someone dead.

Back home in our group, I'm not the one used to get the information needed to act, but I'm one of the first to hunt down the target to execute such once that knowledge is in my hands.
