Second day of liminal [OPEN]
So we've got a pretty big group of folk here, from all over. Prob'ly got a all different walks of life represented, right?
Do any of those folk happen to be from a doctor-type of walk of life?

I have studied anatomy, and I am a healer. Perhaps I can be of assistance, Zoe?
no subject
Women's anatomy? How much d'you know about pregnancy?
[Yeah, she's not being super subtle. But if she's right, she'll be really showing soon enough, here.]

While it is not my, er... specialty...
[An awkward pause.]
... I have studied a child in utero before, and I do have some more modern medical knowledge, circa the 1900s. If you have no better option, I would happily assist you in this, Zoe, you know I would.
[It might not have been entirely you back in Questing Country, he was 100% himself back there.]

[There is a brief pause, and then because she very much isn't human, she adds:]
It covers human physiology, as well as that of my own and several other species.
no subject
How about human reproduction? It cover that?

Oh hell, where are we going to find you a uterine replicator here? Much less someone to transfer the fetus? Can you even transfer a fetus at four months? I certainly don't know and I'm certainly not an obstetrician.
[It's not that Byerly isn't aware that women give birth naturally all the time. He himself was a body birth. The first uterine replicators on Barrayar didn't arrive until he was roughly a year old. But they've become ubiquitous back home for those who can afford it and so that's where By's mind naturally jumps.]

Zoe… a child? I—
[He doesn’t know what else to say right now, but it certainly enough to make him pick himself up where he’s at so that he can go to her.]
no subject
But yeah. Maybe.
[She's in the workshop just then, so she's not hard to find.]

[no twelve year old boy who doesn't even know the woman in question should sound that excited over this.]

[Admittedly, she hasn't done a lot with the psychic network until now, since she's been infiltrated for both Jaunts so far, but she hadn't expected quite so many people to be paying attention to her sub-conversations.]
I might be havin' a baby. I got symptoms. It ain't confirmed yet, though, so don't get too excited, there, little one.
