I just tried to look for omens and portents attached to that liquid room, in case it was created by the Illuminants. It doesn't give any omens at all, though, except for what people bring to it. It's a blank slate.

Also, I tried using my Questing Country powers as Oracle of the Hunt. It's telling me that there is bait present in Liminal Space, but what it is and who created it is unclear to me from that alone. The room is the most obvious potential bait, but I can't get a good enough read on it to know for sure.
