This is my first time actually trying to make a message through the whole network... hopefully this will work.

[Jean sounds rather exhausted as he talks. While he had been away from the dungeon for some time, he still hasn't really recovered completely. Not with all the damn emotions and thoughts he had to process. Now he had finally sorted out the most important things so he was ready to talk with others to apologize or just explain.]

To anyone who interacted with Jan Wirths at the previous Jaunt. If there's something you need to talk to me about with that, I'm at workshop for most of the time. I know there were some things that he did that were rather fucked up.

[That's actually an understatement, at least in Jean's mind.]

... and well, if someone wants to tell me a bit more about Persona's, I would appreciate it. Now that I've rested I might understand any explanations a bit better.

And then things that happened in the dungeon... I'm ready to talk about them now.

[He's really been avoiding everyone for some time now. Especially one called Eren Jaeger, who he heard perfectly well over the network the other day. He almost adds "Jaeger stay out or I'll feel worse" but

1) Mikasa wouldn't like that
2) Eren would yell at him
3) Headache guaranteed

So he just leaves this as this.]

[Mikasa hears that message and Jean will soon get the girl into his room. She's looking at the floor while she closes the door behind her.]

[Jean doesn't even notice someone walking in. So he's a bit startled at hearing the door close, so he gets up quickly from his bed to look at the door.]

Mikasa.

[His first thought over seeing Mikasa after days is happiness and he wants to express that... but then he realizes a few things that make his feelings freeze up. These are namely everything that happened in the dungeon and Eren.

So instead, he, too, stares somewhere else while sitting more properly, still leaving her a place to sit.]

It's been a while.

[Well. She's here. What now?

First things first. Mikasa notices that place for her to sit, makes her way there and at least sits down without hesitation. That's the easy part. After that she's really not sure where to start, still looking at the floor or the walls or whatever she happens to be looking at right now but not at him, not yet.]

... I thought you could use the rest.

[Without her sneaking around as if she's in a rush with this. She's -- not? Even though she's already here and didn't waste any time in getting here after hearing his message but well, no, still no rush.]

Personas? [That's almost a surprise, but not entirely. The dungeons around here seem to like plopping people into their personal hells anyway, so it's only natural that someone's Shadow might pop out. It sort of happened to Adachi-san, even, but he'd already been through the whole thing once before.

Naoki just really, really hopes someone who knew what was up with that was in the dungeon to help this guy through it.]

Facing yourself is difficult work. I'm not surprised you needed a little rest - I think all of us who've been through that did. Would you like me to come find you?

Yeah, I think that was what they were called.

[Shadow was that thing that looked like him and Persona was what it turned into. That much he remembered.... he hoped. The whole thing had gone over his head, really.]

I would appreciate it. It feels like this kind of explanations work better in person rather than through here.

That's definitely what they're called. I'm sorry you got the Shadow treatment - I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. [Still, it's better than the Evokers.]

"Persona" is a term for the different roles played by people in interactions with others. It comes from the Latin term for a theatrical mask.

[Something about the way he said it caught her interest. Maybe it's overdeveloped suspicion, but it can't hurt to investigate.]

[Well that's an interesting explanation of the word, at least. Jean hadn't thought of the actual meaning, to be honest.]

It's the name a of a power I apparently received... though the word description sounds pretty accurate for it, too.

Persona as the name of a power...interesting, very interesting! Normally it just seems to be a less delineated form of an alter ego. I don't suppose this power consists of transforming into a spandex-clad superhero, does it?

It was a bit overwhelming, I have to admit, but I could be even more confused without an explanation, so don't feel bad about it.

I think it might be good to talk about a few things. Someone already promised to talk about this, not that I'd mind as much information as possible, but... we did meet at the Jaunt, didn't we?

[With Eren Jaeger around Jean is pretty much damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Still not mentioning him at least means Eren's response is actually pretty calm. For him. Rather than, you know, opening up with mental yelling.]

This Jan guy someone we need to look out for? [In the "do I need to beat the shit out of him if he shows up" kind of way. Guess who still hasn't really managed to wrap his head around Infiltrating?]

[Well, at least that's a plus. At least he's earned when he doesn't want a fight he should just ignore him completely because talking to him is almost like automatically picking a fight. Even when it's not his intention.

Jean could be a pal and explain things the easy way. Instead he'll order one (1) beat up on himself in case they ever go back to that world again.]

Yeah. He almost captured Armin and killed Mikasa. If we ever go back to that world, and he's still alive, watch out for him. He looks like me, because I was him.

[Annnnnd then Jean blew it and the very loud Eren he'd be used to is back. How is it even possible for someone without Sensory Livestreaming to yell that loud? Yeesh.]

[After the announcement, Armin gives Mikasa time to speak with Jean first - it's obvious they need it. He's a little confused and a little worried about what he saw in the dungeon, though. He's a little guilty, too - he hasn't had time to really speak with Jean much since he became a Traveler, feels like he didn't really prepare him as much as he should have, and he wonders if that contributed to things. He's not really sure what things are between them - they were never terribly close in the first place, though that was mostly because of Eren. With Eren here now too... well.

What happened in the jaunt doesn't help either. Armin hasn't had a chance to say he doesn't blame Jean for that. It's something he should know, but those kinds of situations are always harder to accept when your overlay is the aggressor.

Mostly, though, he's just relieved Jean's all right.

Still, it's obvious they need to talk. The door is ajar, but Armin still knocks as he pushes it gently open, sticking his head into the room.] Jean?

[After the talk with Mikasa, Jean hadn't really been in the best of moods. He was lying on his bed, just staring at the roof - thinking about everything they talked about. Thinking about the fact he was rejected. That didn't come as a surprise - not with Eren being here now - but it still damn hurt. It hurt knowing Mikasa only had eyes for the idiot, even if he didn't know anything about the time Jean and Mikasa came from. Of course, feelings like that never went away.

Neither did Jean's feelings. Which made it all the more difficult. It's not like he could just get over his feelings and pretend like he never loved Mikasa.

Though Jean was still determined to stay her friend and someone he could rely on. He just needed some time for mull over his feelings before facing Mikasa again.

For now, however, he appreciates getting something else to think about with Armin showing up. He looks at the door, still lying on the bed, but raising a hand to greet the boy.]

[Since Levi's always urging his brats to reach out if they need him, he will of course respond to Jean's psychic summons:]

So the two of you managed to keep from killing each other after all.

[Is that even what this is about? Who knows, but considering Jean and Eren had been at each other's throats for the entire network to hear he figures it's his place to comment on it, if not to intervene directly.]

[He admits now that he's well away from Eren that he could have handled the situation a little better. Now he just has too much pride to actually admit that and too much self-defense urges to try and explain himself in a long while.]
